Waffle World @ One Utama

I’m craving for waffle, now.

P1030111

I asked myself couple of times while passing by the Waffle World @ One Utama New Wing, it isn’t eye catchy, isn’t appetizing, isn't a big brand, isn’t even having good variety of food.

Why is it still surviving, over the years?

So finally after years of wondering why, the mystery solved.

Because it’s really nice. Not about the ambience, not about the name, it’s all about waffle. That kind of waffle that I like – crispy, light and buttery, beautifully browned, and oh-the-aroma.

Yes, really.

One fine evening was hunting for food in Tropicana Citymall, stumbled upon this shop specialised in making selling pork burgers.

Yes, really.

Pork Burgers and nothing else.

It’s name Ninja Joe, Lower Ground Floor of Tropicana Citymall.

Smokehouse, Bangsar Telawi

I always have something with English interior, whatever old, authentic English interior - English cottage, Victorian style, English antiques, country flower etc etc. Even by telling my friend I intend to turn my new room into an English cottage wrapped in country flower wallpaper has give them a good laugh teasing my very auntie-ish taste, yet I am head over toe in love with it.

07.04.10 Wednesday

Cindy called for a dinner at “the restaurant next to Madam Kwan Bangsar”.

And so we went searched blindly for this particular restaurant.

And so I fell in love at the first sight with this tiny little shop humbly squeezed in the middle of Madam Kwan and Chawan. Not quite in the same league as the surrounding restaurants.

And I forgot to take picture of the interior fml.

It has the welcoming fireplace, the very nostalgic antiques (that kind of colonial time mirrors, vinyl records player, antique desk phone etc), the fancy candle stands, the tranquilizing soft touch of watercolour paintings, clean white wall and yea, flowers everywhere… … … And it sells beer. To my surprise, their Carlsberg is nice (not sure if I was thirsty?), so chilled, adequately priced at RM27 per 2 pints.

Good kick start of the dinner with Ceaser Salad with Roasted Chicken and Egg + Beef Bacon, RM12.

miao

p.s : In the menu it says you may opt for the roasted chicken and egg OR beef bacon, but I am not too sure why I managed to order it to have it both, without extra charge some more. Lucky day for me :)

Look at this pie.

Meet Chicken and Mushroom Pie. Lame name but impressive.

My favourite dish of the night <3 <3

<3 the pastry, very very very very crispy.

<3 the soup, very very very very creamy.

<3 <3 <3 the combination, best of both world.

The side dishes for the pie. The mashed potato made a great companionship.

Can’t remember how much, about RM30+ kua.

This pie was Cindy’s choice, therefore she deserves a solo appearance here.

Grilled Cod, RM30+.

Crispy from the outside, smooth and juicy from the inside

Lamb Shank, RM30+.

Love me tender love me sweet ♫

GARICK

According to the floor server in Smokehouse, the Lamb Shank is one of their recommended dish, especially for meat lovers.

Bread and Butter Pudding. Something averagely nice.

Love isn't one big thing, it's a million little things ♥

For those who’d got me wrong in Facebook, this is what I meant in love.

breakfast

This is a morning to remember.

I woke up in a strange warm bed alone, with no one to embrace with. So I made a few rolling and got up, wrapped myself with the oversized white shirt and tiptoed down the stairs.

I smelled something frying.

Next was, my puppy cooking, looking bewildered and lost when he sees me.

That was a face to remember.

I was craving for an English breakfast last Sunday morning.

Cooking lesson for dummies.

Chapter I . How To Break An Egg

Knock the egg against the edge of frying pan, slowing bring the egg to the desired position on the pan, gently apply pressure towards the egg through fingers. And then it cracks and the egg white shall flow smoothly down to the pan, egg yolk shall remain in perfect shape.

A breakfast to remember.

a weekend

I can barely remember when was the last time I had Mc Dong Dong. Over the weekend I found out they actually had a new packaging, for already quite sometime.

My lan-impressed-ness seeing the new packaging, for the first time.

Fuyoh they show a whole potato on the French Fries box neh.”

Wow they have their recipe on the filet-o-fish box my god they are sharing their recipe??”

Being the very-me my the other half, he was impressed with the Big Mac which organized so neatly.

This picture means nothing I just impressed with myself for decorated the French Fries so gorgeously only by using pepper.

Isn’t it look yummier?

Or it looks better with the French Fries monster?

New packaging even comes with the cruel truth of nutrition facts which tells how much calories you’d just consumed.

Total damage of RM900+-

Hit Healy Mac’s, Changkat Bukit Bintang to satisfy my Kilkenny crave.

I) The encounter of the ravishing Ms. Kilkenny and the manly Guiness Stout.

II) The chemical bond generated by the love at the first sight. They embraced and intimated.

III) They make out, amidst the spark of flaming love.

IV) And exhausted in the end of the hot sweet encounter night.

This picture has nothing to do with the crappy story you just read..

Check out the creepy face at the bar.

Spendthrift

Spendthrift Act I

Welcome the new member of white room.

My impulsive purchase of Ipod Touch 32GB. Seriously, I have no idea why in the world do I need such huge capacity. 32GB would be sufficient enough for me to play music non stop 24x7 for one full month.

If there’s a white colour casing I will definitely grab it without second thought.

When I was holding the pink and white Paul Frank casing for Ipod Touch and just right before I proceed to the counter, guess what, this casing caught my sight.

The mirrored slim case!

It’s a casing! And it is a mirror!

Like seriously, it is a mirror okie.

Though Ipod Touch does work better as a mirror.

Therefore, now I am having an Ipod Touch, a casing, and a mirror too muahaha.

Spendthrift Act II

This is a tragic caused spendthrift act, please send your condolence before you start reading the story.

Story began with one fine day I went to this Shawn Cutler Saloon at Bangsar Telawi, obviously for a hair cut. I was just wanted to trim my hair a little, and shorten my bang a little so it wouldn’t keep irritating my eyes.

Next thing I know, the gorgeous top-to-toe saloon mirror reflects a strange girl, I thought I have never knew her. She has a hair style like a pair of heavy curtains hang on both side of her cheeks, all the way till chin. Right above her eyebrow there was another flow of curtain, but it’s a fringe curtain. On the entire head (except that two heavy curtains on the side), there were no single strand of hair which longer than three inches.

Can you imagine that curtain inspired hairstyle?

Don’t try, it was terrible, that’s all.

Thanks to Shawn Cutler, I actually went for hair extension, for the very first time in my life. Spent RM800 for elongation included colouring. Without Shawn Cutler I wouldn’t have had experience how does it feel like for having such amount of wigs braided on my hair.

hair extension

So I’m back as long hair. Ya I know it looks a bit weird, but no matter how skilful the hairstylist is, she just can’t help me to get rid of the terrible fringe bang and overly layered hair.

Moral of the story, money can really really save all the fuss, included your bad hair cut that merely drives you mad.

p.s: extension done by La Belle Saloon, just the row of shoplots behind Times Square.

Spendthrift Act III

Now this is sweet.

Half the world knew that I love lidako aka baby octopus so much so much so much.

The whole world knew that lidako is so the freaking pricey.

Today I went for a business partner’s place and I brought this back.

Believe it or not. I bought a carton of lidako, it’s 2kg!!

2kg of lidako all for myself can you believe it?

Really, I can have 2kg of lidako lidako lidako lidako.

Means I can sit in front of TV, nom-ing the entire carton of lidako, till the show ends. So heavenly omg.
